Tocopherol (Vitamin E)

Plant-derived antioxidant. Naturally occurring in seed oils, concentrated for barrier reinforcement. Protects against oxidative stress, softens rough texture, locks moisture where skin needs it most.

What it does:

Supports skin's antioxidant defence and helps reduce the visible impact of environmental stress. Strengthens moisture barrier to prevent dryness and improve the feel of rough, compromised texture. Provides emollient conditioning for smooth, supple appearance.

Why we use it

Antioxidant shield against environmental assault

Tocopherol neutralises free radicals generated by UV exposure, pollution, and oxidative stress before they degrade skin's lipid barrier and collagen structure. Not prevention of damage – mitigation of ongoing attack. The molecular bodyguard that intercepts aggressors before they reach vulnerable tissue.

Barrier reinforcement for moisture retention

Integrates into skin's lipid matrix, strengthening the mortar between cellular bricks. Prevents transepidermal water loss, maintains hydration levels, protects against environmental dehydration. Tocopherol doesn't just sit on surface – it becomes part of the barrier architecture itself.

Emollient conditioning for texture refinement

Softens the appearance and feel of rough, dry, or stressed skin. Particularly effective on areas showing visible environmental impact – hands, elbows, décolletage, anywhere barrier function has been compromised by weather, work, or time. Conditioning that addresses both sensation and appearance.

Natural preservation, extended formula stability

Tocopherol's antioxidant action extends to the formulation itself – protecting precious botanical oils from oxidative rancidity, maintaining potency over shelf life. Functional ingredient that serves skin and preserves formula integrity simultaneously. Efficacy that lasts from batch to bottom of tin.
